The Tongariro Alpine Crossing App has been developed by local tour guides, who have walked the Crossing many hundreds of times. The purpose of this app is to give you all the information you need to plan, and to have a safe and hassle free day. It takes all the guess work out of your day, from what to take and how to get there, to providing in-depth knowledge, audio commentary, as well as offline maps. We have worked in consultation with the NZ Police and Land Search and Rescue, to help provide you with some practical information you might need while dealing with any unfortunate situations or injury’s that may occur. Most importantly NO annoying in APP Ads.Fixed a bug with audio not playing correctly. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Audio wasn't working and promptly fixed. (Android 8.0). Information and layout nice. Used it on the walk to give some commentary.
Good information. It took most of the guesswork out of how to get up to the summits (note: this is now discouraged, but isn't illegal). Really helped me me learn how to pronounce many of these Maori names too. That would be the one thing I think I would add, a pronunciation guide. Just a page with audios of the names that can be replayed until you have it down. As it was, I had to replay from the beginning of each audio up to point of a name I wanted to learn (i.e. Ngauruhoe). Not worth taking a star off for that though.
